American Red Cross blood drive returns to UCOP July 21

Did you know?

  • More than 38,000 blood donations are needed every day.
  • A single car accident victim can require as many as 100 pints of blood.
  • Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood.

The Red Cross has issued an appeal for blood donors of all types due to a critical blood shortage nationwide. All blood types are needed but especially type O negative.

Make an appointment today to donate blood on Thursday, July 21, from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Red Cross bus will be parked in front of the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) Building on 11th Street, between Franklin and Webster, just one half-block from 1111 Franklin.

See the American Red Cross Blood Donation website for more details about the blood donation process. And contact Jan Kehoe at (510) 987-9692 or jan.kehoe@ucop.edu to make your appointment today.
