AED/CPR certification training: Final session for 2011

If you are interested in automated external defibrillator and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (AED/CPR) certification, UCOP is offering the final training session for 2011 at 505 Kaiser on Friday, Dec. 16, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Registration is open to those interested in becoming certified or in recertifying. Act soon to reserve your spot, as the session is limited to 10 participants.

The Office of the President established an AED/CPR program several years ago for the Oakland-based staff. Such programs have been shown to dramatically improve the survivability of heart-attack victims.

OP has many staff trained in emergency response, including AED/CPR, first aid and floor wardens, who are a critical component of UCOP’s overall emergency plans.

The upcoming class, offered through OP’s Office of Risk Services, is a four-hour session that includes training in the AED device and adult CPR. Those who successfully complete the session will receive certification valid for two years.

To register, please send an email to EHS@ucop.edu and include your phone number, building location (Kaiser, Franklin, 20th, Broadway), division name and workspace or office number.

Your request will be acknowledged within 24 hours and confirmation sent by a return Outlook meeting invitation.

If you have any questions, please contact Bob Charbonneau, emergency manager, at 510-987-9594 or robert.charbonneau@ucop.edu, or Janine Crocker, program administrator, at 510-987-9882 or janine.crocker@ucop.edu.
