See new UCOP course catalog for growth opportunities galore
The Office of Local Human Resources has just published a catalog of UCOP’s Learning and Development programs, courses and services, Learning and development opportunities to grow your career.
The booklet, distributed to all Oakland-based staff the week of April 23, includes courses and course descriptions of all UCOP’s offerings in the following areas:
- Leadership, management and supervision
- Career and professional development
- Performance management
- Technology and software
- Communications
“UCOP has so many offerings, from classes in time management and Excel to classes in how to participate in your performance appraisal,” said Linda Klink, learning and development manager. “The catalog puts it all in one place and makes it easy to find the programs that are suitable for your needs.”
Anyone who has registered for a UCOP class is familiar with the UC Learning Center for UCOP Employees, the primary tool for accessing, registering for and keeping track of learning and development opportunities, which UCOP shares with UCSF.
Coming soon, Klink said, is a revamped Learning Center that will be dedicated to UCOP offerings, which will make it easier for users to navigate and register for classes.
Most of UCOP’s classes are open to all staff and take place in the Franklin or Kaiser buildings. Some are specifically designed for supervisors or emerging leaders, like the UCOP Leadership Development Program. Many classes are full-day sessions, and some are offered in a series to provide ongoing progress in a content area, such as the three-part course in project management or the two-part course in career management.
So check out the catalog today and find a class that will help you keep learning. If you would like a copy and did not receive one, contact Linda Klink at linda.klink@ucop.edu.
