Today, April 2: Project management authority to speak
Join the Project Management Interest Group for their monthly meeting today, Tuesday, April 2, 12 to 1 p.m. in 11326 Franklin, to hear Gopal K. Kapur, a noted authority on business and project management.
Kapur is a consultant, writer and speaker in both the public and private sectors and founder of the San Ramon–based Center for Project Management, which helps organizations of all sizes and disciplines develop innovative management strategies.
He is the author of Project Management for Information, Technology, Business, and Certification, published in 2004 by Prentice Hall. Many Fortune 500 companies have adopted his Project Process Architecture, which provides a practical strategy for managing portfolios, programs and projects.
Kapur has lectured at UC campuses at Berkeley, Riverside and Davis, at Harvard University, the Commonwealth Club, the National Press Club and the Brookings Institution. He holds a diploma in civil engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology in Patiala, India.
UCOP’s Project Management Interest Group (PMIG) is an affinity group that launched in 2009 to provide support and share best practices and tools for getting work done more quickly and effectively. The group holds monthly brown bag meetings the first Tuesday of each month, which alternate between the Franklin and Kaiser buildings.
