Interested in project management? PMIG meeting today

If you haven’t heard of UCOP’s Project Management Interest Group (PMIG), today’s the day to check out the group’s monthly meeting.

Lynne Lombardo of Lynne Lombardo Consulting, will discuss the book Switch: How To Change Things When Change Is Hard today, Tuesday, Sept. 10, 12 to 1 p.m. in 712 Kaiser. Dial 866-740-1260 and enter access code 9879551# if you can’t attend in person.

Switch, written by Chip and Dan Heath, was published in 2010 and was on the New York Times bestseller list for 47 weeks. Lombardo will provide how-to advice for dealing with change in our organizations and in our lives based on the book’s model for working with both the rational and emotional mind in change situations.

Lombardo has more than 30 years of management, leadership and organization performance experience. She holds an M.B.A. in General Management and Organization Theory from UCLA Anderson School of Management and has broad experience navigating change in large corporations.

The Project Management Interest Group is an affinity group that launched in 2009 to provide support and share best practices and tools for getting work done more quickly and effectively. The group holds monthly brown bag meetings the first Tuesday of each month; meetings alternate between the Franklin and Kaiser buildings and often feature guest speakers.

If you are interested in receiving reminders for each monthly brown bag, contact Paul Master at paul.master@ucop.edu to be added to the PMIG listserv.
