10-Second Bio: Yvette Gullatt
Name: Yvette Gullatt
Title: Executive Director
Department/Unit: Education Partnerships
Location: Franklin, 12th Floor
How long I’ve been with UCOP: 1999
What I do for OP in five words or less: strategize, plan, manage, advocate, write
The best part about working for OP: The people – seriously. And having my own printer.
Something you don’t know about me: I hold a doctorate in English – my research focus is early American literature (I love the Puritans!)
One weird fact about the town I grew up in: I didn’t grow up in a single place….the last town that I lived in was a village on the island of Crete – Chersonissis. Everything closed down in the afternoon so that the villagers could nap. Then they’d wake up and go to work in the bars to keep the German and British tourists happily sloshed.
If I could have any job in the world (besides the one I have now), I would: write novels set in early America.
Maybe we can institute an afternoon nap here at UCOP? 🙂
Great bio. Puritans don’t get enough love, sadly.
Interesting place to have lived! I am fascinated by the village life in Crete and would love to visit.
I’m there with you on the printer!!
