10-Second Bio: Angela Hom
Job Title: Indexer
Department/Unit: Records Management, IR&C
Location: 7th Floor, Franklin Bldg
How long I’ve been with OP: About 3.5 years . . .still a neophyte.
What I do for OP in less than 5 words: Write abstracts of documents for a database.
The best part about working for OP: The sheer variety of people and interactions I have with them. Plus, the nature of my work is really quite interesting, as it involves reading correspondence that flows between campuses, the outside community, and between departments.
Something you don’t know about me: I’m a really accurate at throwing axes. I discovered this while camping at an ax throwing contest.
One weird fact about the town I grew up in: I grew up in LA. The City of Angels has many wierd, wacky, and wonderful facts. How can I choose just one? I grew up in the community of Highland Park which had the first freeway (Arroyo Seco) in California to run through it. And even though LA is a car-obssessed city, I didn’t get a drivers license until I was 25!
If I could have any job in the world (besides the one I have now): An owner of a combination coffee house/bookstore/nursery where no laptops, netbooks, or electronic gizmos are allowed!
Angela you are a great colleague and thank you for being the wonderful person you are!
Angela, I like your dream job! (Though I like my gizmos, too.)
Great piece!
