Catherine Candee to depart UC for bepress

After 12 years at UC, Catherine Candee will be leaving on March 11 for a position with Berkeley Electronic Press (“bepress”) as vice president of marketing and community engagement.
Candee has served as founder and director of California Digital Library’s e-scholarship program, codirector of the Office of Scholarly Communication and, most recently, as director of strategic information, publishing and broadcast services in Academic Planning and Programs.
“Catherine has been a source of leadership and creative energy,” said Vice Provost Dan Greenstein. “Whether developing highly successful operational services or reframing our thinking within libraries and across the university about support for new forms of scholarly communication, she has been an innovator, a builder and a change agent who will be missed.”
