Wellness: Lunchtime seminar on self care
Facilitator Dan Neitz, MFT, presents a wellness seminar at 712 Kasier Building on Wednesday, March 16, 12 to 1 p.m., entitled “Self care: which part of myself should I care for?”
The demands of life can make self care difficult. While real nourishment looks different for each one of us, we all share the journey of finding a place inside ourselves that opens us up to greater purpose and prevents burnout.
The purpose of this seminar is to expand self care beyond exercising, eating right and getting rest (all of which remain important) to include discovering that point which, if properly cared for, truly sustains and nourishes us.
Dan Neitz has a master’s in counseling psychology and is currently a Marriage and Family Therapist intern as well as an instructor-in-training at Great River Institute’s School of Consciousness Studies. A Bay Area resident, he also mentors inner city youth through the Meritus College Fund.
This seminar is sponsored by the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program; for questions, please contact Sharon Mendonca at 415-476-8279 or sharon.mendonca@ucsf.edu.
