Rooftop garden this Thursday: Celebrate UCOP’s diversity

Join your UCOP colleagues for a fun summer event to celebrate the diversity of the UC community and raise awareness about OP’s many active affinity groups.

The event, A Taste of Diversity, will be held Thursday, Aug. 18, 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Franklin Fifth Floor Rooftop Garden. Featured will be desserts and beverages, raffle prizes (you must be present to win!), a welcome from EVP Nathan Brostrom and others, Salsa dance lessons and a dance performance featuring elementary school children.

Prizes will be awarded for the most correct answers on the quiz circulated at this month’s Franklin and Kaiser breakfasts, and the winner and answers will be published in the Aug. 23 issue of Link.

A Taste of Diversity is cosponsored by the UCOP Provost’s Office, Human Resources and Office of the EVP for Budget Operations, in conjunction with the following affinity groups: the Black Staff and Faculty Organization, the Crafters Group, the Latino Staff Association, the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Intersex Staff Association, the Project Management Interest Group and the UCOP Singers. The UCOP Climate Council and OP Staff Assembly are also assisting in organizing the event.

OP staff representing affinity groups and Human Resources will also be on hand to offer resources for anyone interested in starting new affinity groups.
