UCOP Learning and Development brings you two great classes in the first half of November, so plan ahead and sign up now to take advantage of this great UC employee benefit.

Classes include a full-day class in Visio as well as  a half-day professional development session for managers and supervisors in communications essentials.

Visio on Thursday, Nov. 3

Visio 2007 is Microsoft’s software that makes it easy for you to create drawings, from network diagrams and organization charts to office layouts and flowcharts. The course meets Thursday, Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in 7107 Franklin.

Communications Essentials on Wednesday, Nov. 16

Five Essentials of Communications presents tips for enhancing your communication skills and creating an environment that encourages employees to discuss their work openly and honestly. Almost everything you do in your position as a supervisor or manager — from hiring a new employee to training, coaching and evaluating — requires good communication skills. This class meets Wednesday, Nov. 16, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in 5320 Franklin.

You can register for these courses by going to the UC Learning Center. Sign in using your UCOP login and password. Using the Search box on the left, type in the name of the class you are interested in. When at the Results of Search screen, click on the class. Then click Register next to the class title, then Submit.
