Don’t miss your chance to join UCOP Singers this holiday season!
Be a part of a longstanding holiday tradition and join the UCOP Singers for this season’s festivities. It will get you in the spirit of the season and warm your heart.
The UCOP Singers have been a beloved feature of UCOP’s holiday merriment for 35 years. They are looking for new male voices, but all voice parts are welcome. Rehearsals take place every Thursday from 12 to 1 p.m. in room 6113 Franklin, except Thanksgiving week, through Thursday, Dec. 8.
If you are available and love to sing, simply show up at an upcoming rehearsal.
The sounds of the UCOP Singers will be heard throughout the Franklin Building on Friday, Dec. 9, when UCOP will bring you a progressive holiday party that begins in the lobby in the morning, followed by afternoon festivities on three floors.
Daniel Scuiry, administrative analyst in the Retirement Administration Service Center and longtime member of the OP Singers, has taken over as director this year. Willie Archie, who cofounded the group in the 1970s and served as its director for 35 years, retired in 2009.
The UCOP Singers will also sing at other venues this December, including the Kaiser lobby and the Lake Merritt Breakfast Club. If you would like to book the group for your event, contact Charlotte Strem at (510) 987-0113 or charlotte.strem@ucop.edu.
