New support group launching for Moms and Dads at UCOP
Are you a mother or dad, looking for advice on how to juggle your work life with the responsibilities of parenting?
Rebecca Stanek-Rykoff, research analyst in Innovation Alliances and Services, is organizing a new group, Moms & Dads (MAD) at UCOP, to help you with work-life balance challenges and connect with other UCOP parents.
The group’s first brown bag lunch meeting will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 12 to 1 p.m. in 9204 Franklin, and is open to anyone who is interested.
“This will be a general getting-to-know-each-other meeting,” Stanek-Rykoff says, “as well as a time to generate lists of topics for discussion, guest speakers and other activities.” She plans on applying to be an official UCOP affinity group if there is sufficient interest.
So far, proposed activities include:
- monthly brown bag lunches with a focused topic
- guest speakers from within UCOP, particularly from HR
- development and maintenance of a database of family services
- off-site socializing with families
- service activities
If you are interested, contact Stanek-Rykoff at rebecca.stanek-rykoff@ucop.edu, or just show up at Tuesday’s meeting.
