Find out how to support UC’s state advocacy efforts
Join staff from UC’s Office of State Governmental Relations (SGR) for a brown bag on how things work in the state capitol and how all members of the UC community can help support the university’s advocacy efforts.
Larry Salinas, associate director of Institutional Relations, and Kate Daby-Horpedahl, advocacy constituencies coordinator, from UC’s SGR Office in Sacramento will visit UCOP on Thursday, Feb. 23, 12 to 1 p.m. in Franklin’s Lobby One Conference Room.
They will conduct an information session on UC’s current advocacy efforts in Sacramento, with a focus on how OP employees can most effectively participate. Learn why individual contact is the most persuasive lobbying technique available, and find out how to broach the subject and what to say. Come get a “nudge” to contact your legislators. Learn how to make a difference in this important election year.
This event is cosponsored by the OP Staff Assembly and External Relations.
