August Senate Source now available

The August 2012 issue of The Senate Source is now available online. This month’s stories include:
- Notes from Academic Senate Chair Robert Anderson: Outgoing Senate Chair Robert Anderson reflects on his time in office and the current issues before the Academic Senate and the university.
- Academic Senate approves new transfer admission paths: The Academic Senate has approved new transfer admission pathways that will help clarify the transfer process for California Community College students interested in UC and improve their preparation for UC-level work.
- Graduate student support ailing, says task force: UC must increase graduate student stipends and eliminate nonresident supplemental tuition (NRST) for academic graduate students to the maximum extent possible, says a report by the Academic Senate’s Task Force on Competitiveness in Graduate Student Support (CAGSS).
The August issue also includes a list of current items under Academic Senate review and several other updates and announcements of interest to the faculty.
