Reminder: Compliance Briefing due tomorrow, Feb. 20
The deadline for taking the General Compliance Briefing, the online ethics and compliance training required for all UC employees, is tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 20.
The UC Office of Ethics, Compliance and Audit Services (ECAS) developed the course to raise awareness of the high standards of ethics and conduct expected from UC employees to uphold the university’s public trust and support its mission of teaching, research and public service.
All campuses have been asked to implement the course for their non-research staff (who are required to complete a similar but more extensive course) to ensure that all UC employees are aware of the university’s Statement of Ethical Values and Standards of Ethical Conduct. The course is available online via the UC Learning Center and will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete.
After taking the course, you will have a better understanding of the university’s ethical standards and know how to report possible instances of non-compliance. The course includes theoretical scenarios to test your learning based on interactions that might occur in your everyday work life at UC.
All UCOP staff with email addresses in the system should have received assignment notices and reminders from the Learning Management System asking you to complete the course by Wednesday, Feb. 20. New employees are expected to complete it within 90 days of hire. The course may be re-administered periodically as UC policies and regulations evolve.
