UCOP staff and President Yudof connect at his final town hall

If you missed it, you can still check out UC President Mark G. Yudof’s final Town Hall on UC’s UStream channel and hear his thoughts on OP’s relationship with the campuses, the state budget, the search for the next president and more.

Nearly 200 UCOP staff turned out for the June 25 event at the Elihu Harris State Office Building Auditorium in downtown Oakland, marking Yudof’s final staff town hall before he retires Aug. 31. Some 200 additional viewers tuned in via UStream.

Yudof has participated in similar events every year he has been president, discussing the state of the university and taking questions from the audience. The 2011 and 2012 events can also be found in their entirety in the UStream video archive.

The OP Staff Assembly, OP’s all-volunteer staff organization, sponsored the events to promote conversations between staff and the president and give staff the opportunity to ask questions and raise matters of concern.

At the June 25 town hall, Staff Assembly Chair Jeanie Urban introduced President Yudof, and past chairs Ken Feer and Ravinder Singh presented him with a Resolution for Exemplary Leadership and Service to the University of California.

The resolution commended Yudof for his “staff-inclusive presidency marked by regular engagement with staff to seek opinions, answer questions and listen to concerns focused on the needs and welfare of staff.”

View the entire event any time in the UStream archive.
