Lean In series continues with discussion this Thursday, Dec. 5
Join your UCOP colleagues for a facilitated conversation about women’s empowerment in the workplace, Thursday, Dec. 5, 12 to 1 p.m. in Franklin Lobby 1.
The session, part of a monthly series, is inspired by the book Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg and is sponsored by the President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW).
This month’s topic is The Leadership Ambition Gap, based on Sandberg’s first chapter. PACSW members Cheryl Lloyd, Tricia Lyall and Dena Bullard will facilitate the conversation.
Among the topics for discussion are:
- Gender and aspirations for leadership
- Gender and leadership
- Silencing voices and opinions
- Fear as the root of many barriers women face
If you are interested in attending, please sign up on the UC Learning Center; just search for Lean In and enroll in this or any other session. Feel free to bring your lunch.
You don’t need to read the book to participate in this or other events in the series, which you can find listed on the PACSW website.
