10-second bio: Meet Caitlin Callaghan, who relishes her unpredictable workdays
Name: Caitlin Callaghan
Title: Director of Executive Communications
Department/Unit: Communications/Public Affairs
Location: 12th Floor, Franklin
When I started working at UCOP: March 2011
What I do for UCOP in five words or less: Write speeches for President Napolitano
Best part about working for OP: It’s a tie between continuous learning about UC and California history, and the fact that every day is unpredictable.
Something you don’t know about me: I backpacked over the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull four months after it erupted in 2010.
One weird fact about the town I grew up in: During the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, chief engineer Joseph Strauss insisted that the medical clinic for bridge workers at Fort Point always be stocked with sauerkraut juice. He believed it was the best cure for hangovers.
If I could have any job in the world (besides the one I have now) I would be: editor-in-chief of Sunset magazine
