10-second bio: Meet Kathy Stevens, a fan of UCOP’s Weight Watchers at Work
Name: Kathy Stevens
Title: Programmer Analyst III
Department/Unit: Information Technology Services
Location: 12th floor, Kaiser
When I started working at UCOP: June 2012
What I do in five words or less: Help maintain/support the payroll system
Best part about working for OP: What makes this a great place to work are the great people who create a congenial and supportive atmosphere.
Something you don’t know about me: I have managed to lose weight every week for six months through the UCOP Weight Watchers at Work. After a lifetime of yo-yo diets, I can truly say this has been supremely easy. It only takes a little planning of meals, tracking what you eat, and eating smaller portions more often. I started with writing down all the reasons why I was unhappy about my weight. I feel that if I can lose over 50 pounds, anyone can.
One weird fact about the place I grew up in: I grew up in Castro Valley, where famous alumni of Castro Valley High School include Val Diamond of Beach Blanket Babylon fame and Rachel Maddow of MSNBC.
If I could have any job in the world (besides the one I have now), I would be: A fashion designer for working women
