Women We Admire: President Napolitano to speak today, Tuesday, July 22

President Napolitano

Today, July 22, and tomorrow, July 23, the UCOP community will have an opportunity to see and hear two different perspectives from UC President Janet Napolitano:

  • Today, Napolitano will be the featured speaker in the Women We Admire series of talks, 12 to 1 p.m., where she will share insights about her career, work challenges and work–life balance.
  • Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 23, she will hold a town hall with the UCOP community, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., which will offer staff an opportunity to speak directly with the president about matters of concern to the UCOP community.

Both events take place at Elihu Harris State Office Building Auditorium, 1515 Clay St. (corner of 15th St.) in downtown Oakland. (Consult this map to locate the Elihu Harris State Office Building, and allow extra time to go through security screening.)

The Women We Admire series, initiated by the President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW) in 2009, brings women to UCOP from around the UC system to share their personal stories.

If you can’t attend in person, listen via ReadyTalk by dialing 866-740-1260 and entering access code 722-6879.

Women We Admire events are open to all members of the UCOP community, and both men and women are invited to learn more about how to make the most of working at UC. Find other speakers in the series and archived audio of past talks on PACSW’s website.
