President Napolitano said it was her biggest WOW moment at UCOP. She was talking about last year’s talent showcase, the culmination of Staff Appreciation Week 2013.

This year’s show is bound to be just as entertaining.

That’s right: UCOP’s got talent, and the 2014 event takes place Friday, Oct. 3, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., in the Kaiser Auditorium. On top of live performances, service milestones will be announced and wine and cheese will be served.

The Staff Appreciation Week committee is still accepting performers. So if you juggle, twirl a baton, play the tuba or have some other special talent, complete the talent show application and send it to Sutton Bennett at Sutton.Bennett@ucop.edu by Friday, Sept. 12.

The roster of performers already includes the musical talent of the Uke–Cs and Budget and Capital Resources Associate Vice President Debbie Obley. Several surprise acts are also in store.

Chief Risk Officer Cheryl Lloyd will once again be master of ceremonies, and Provost Aimée Dorr and Health Sciences and Services Senior Vice President Jack Stobo will announce UCOP service awards.

Staff Appreciation Week, Sept. 30 through Oct. 3, will also feature the Staff Appreciation Lunch on Tuesday, a community day on Wednesday and free entrance to the Oakland Museum on Thursday.
