Lean In this Thursday, Sept. 4: Let’s start talking about it

Join this month’s conversation about empowering women in the workplace with the next session of the Lean In series: Let’s start talking about it.

Lean In book coverFeel free to bring your lunch 12 to 1 p.m. this Thursday, Sept. 4, in Franklin Lobby 1. (Click on the link to add this event to your Outlook calendar.) If you haven’t attended one of these facilitated conversations, be sure to come this month or in October, which will be the final event of the series.

The conversations are inspired by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s bestseller, Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead. The event is open to all men and women in the UCOP community, and you don’t need to read the book to participate.

This month’s topics will include:

  • Getting what you need
  • Recognizing and confronting biases
  • Overcoming limiting beliefs that are holding you back

The President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW) sponsors and facilitates the event each month focusing on the topics raised in different chapters of the book. Facilitating this month’s conversation will be PACSW members Jocelyn Banaria and Lena Zentall and series co-developer Angela Hom.

Check the Link calendar or the PACSW Lean In page for remaining dates for the monthly sessions through October.

You can register in advance for any or all of them through the UC Learning Center to assure yourself a spot; just search for Lean In to enroll in any session.
