Gullatt is vice provost for Diversity and Engagement and chief outreach officer for the UC system. In this role, she provides vision, direction, leadership and oversight of strategies and approaches for the UC system that advance access, diversity and inclusion for students and faculty.
Gullatt was recruited to UCOP from UC Berkeley to help scale up UC’s existing college preparation programs and create new ones to help more underrepresented, low-income, educationally disadvantaged and undocumented students prepare for admission to selective colleges and universities, including UC.
Since joining UCOP, Gullatt has held a variety of systemwide roles, including vice provost for Education Partnerships and Director for Student Academic Preparation and Educational Partnerships (SAPEP). Before joining UCOP, Gullatt worked at UC Berkeley in a variety of student affairs positions, including tutorial services coordinator for student-athletes and academic coordinator and director for the Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP).
Gullatt consults with organizations in California and throughout the nation on academic pipeline issues and strategies. She holds B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in English from UC Berkeley.
Gullatt’s talk is part of the Women We Admire series, initiated by the President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW) in 2009. PACSW brings women to UCOP from around the system to share insights about their careers, workplace challenges and work-life balance. All members of the UCOP community are invited to learn how to make the most of working at UC.
