The Remarkable Women of UC return – with some new honorees

One of the most popular events at UCOP in 2017 was the “Remarkable Women of UC” display in the Franklin lobby. The gallery of posters portraying accomplished female UC alumni captivated everyone who saw them, and their bios inspired everyone who read them.

The President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW) launched the series to highlight some of the numerous incredible women associated with the university, beginning with a selection of alumni in 2017. As President Napolitano said at a reception in their honor last March, “They all have one thing in common – they represent the very best of what UC has to offer, and they serve as role models for other women.”

If you missed last year’s exhibit – or just miss seeing it when you come to work – you are in luck. In honor of International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8, the Remarkable Women of UC display will return to the Franklin lobby for an encore from March 1 to 8. After March 8, it will be placed in Franklin Lobby 1 for the remainder of the month.

With the added participation of UC Irvine this year, there are now Remarkable Women posters representing all 10 campuses. The UC Irvine alumni designated as Remarkable Women this year are:
