Friday: Meet-and-greet potluck to kick off Tiny Hats for Tiny Babies campaign
If you knit, crochet or enjoy crafts, you’re invited to join UCSF’s Tiny Hats for Tiny Babies campaign to help premature babies.
A team in the Office of General Counsel (OGC) knitted and crocheted 140 hats for the campaign last year, and plans to create more hats this year.
The campaign officially launches in September, but OGC is getting a head start with a potluck and meet-and-greet event on Friday, June 22.
Cris Buckley, who is a senior investigator in the UC Irvine Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity, will talk about the project and provide crochet and knitting tips via Zoom. Experienced knitters will be at the event to help provide hands-on instruction, so bring your knitting needles or crochet hook and some yarn to join this kick-off event.
- Date: Friday, June 22
- Time: 1 – 2 p.m.
- Location: Franklin 8112
The event is a potluck and participants are invited to bring a salad.
The Tiny Hats for Tiny Babies campaign is a partnership of UCSF’s East Africa Preterm Birth Initiative and Warm Up America! Foundation. The campaign solicits handmade hats for premature babies in health facilities in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
