Login change for UCOP Windows laptop users
IT Client Services will be changing the software we use to encrypt the hard drives on UCOP-owned Windows laptops from Check Point to BitLocker beginning on Oct. 22, 2018 and continuing through Dec. 21, 2018.
Note: This change does not apply to UCOP staff who use either Macs or Windows/PC desktop computers.
After the change to BitLocker, you will no longer see the Check Point preboot screen, shown here:
Instead, when you start your laptop, you will be taken directly to a Windows login screen similar to this:
To login, enter your UCOP user ID and password, then click the arrow to the right of the password field, or hit “Enter” on your keyboard.
