OP staff help feed the community
On Tuesday, March 22, 10 UCOP staff members and one youth volunteered to help prepare meals for local hungry families at the Alameda County Food Bank.
They sorted and bagged more than 39,000 pounds of food, including apples, potatoes, bananas, carrots and rice.
“This is the equivalent of more than 32,500 meals for our community — all thanks to your hard work,” Blair Kearney, Alameda County Foodbank volunteer logistics coordinator, told the volunteers. “We are very grateful for your time, energy and partnership. We simply wouldn’t be able to do our work without you – thank you!”
This is the third time UCOP staff have volunteered at the food bank. “We continue to plan one volunteer event there every quarter,” says Josie Meneses, executive assistant, Finance Accounting.
Additional volunteers are welcome! To participate in the next opportunity, please contact Josie Meneses.
