Save the date for Multicultural Day
Save the Date: October 24 is Multicultural Day at UCOP!
Organized by UCOP’s Employee Engagement and Diversity Group (EEDG), this popular annual celebration recognizes the diverse backgrounds and identities of UCOP staff. All employees are invited to connect with one another and to learn more about the amazing work of UCOP’s affinity groups.
This year’s Multicultural Day will take place in Oakland’s Franklin Lobby 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Celebrations will also be held in the early afternoon in Riverside and Washington, D.C. (times will be announced once final). UCOP’s leadership team is sponsoring event refreshments.
Celebrate your Ohana
This year’s event theme is Ohana — the Hawaiian term for family, and in a wider sense one’s community. Because everyone’s family is different, EEDG will be celebrating diversity with a photo project called, “My Ohana.”
To participate, submit a photo of your Ohana — your blood-relatives, adoptive family, intentional family or community — along with a one-to-three sentence caption/description. Submissions should be sent to Helen Young from Tuesday, September 3, through Friday, October 4.
