On July 30, former UC President Janet Napolitano awarded the annual President’s Award for Outstanding Student Leadership during a virtual meeting of the UC Regents.

This year’s awardees were a student activist who advocated on behalf of fellow DACA recipients and a student-run science podcasting group that provided science education to the underserved Central Valley region.

“Student activism and public service have been a hallmark of the University of California and its students for 152 years,” Napolitano said. “This year’s winners represent the best of that tradition.”
