Apply today for the UCOP Mentorship Program
The UCOP Mentorship Program is seeking mentees and mentors for its next 2021 program, which will take place from March through September — in an all-virtual format for the first time. This is a great opportunity to share and learn career skills and leadership practices, guide and navigate the UCOP culture, and establish long-term professional relationships. Mentor–mentee pairings that provide a supportive structure for UCOP staff to cultivate contacts, explore challenges and enhance their effectiveness as they grow both personally and professionally.
Participate as a mentee
Staff at all career levels, with six-months or more UCOP experience, are invited to participate as mentees. To apply, complete the Mentee application by Friday, Dec. 11, 2020. Priority will be given to those who have not previously participated as mentees.
Be a mentor
Experienced UCOP leaders or staff with at least one year of UCOP service who are interested in helping others with professional and career development are encouraged to apply as mentors. Previous mentors and mentees are welcome to participate. To express interest, please submit the short Mentor Interest Form by Monday, Dec. 7, 2020.
Why participate?
More than 93% of participants rated the UCOP Mentorship Program a 4 or 5 out of 5 and more than 96% of mentees reported that their mentor helped them reach their program goals.
“I had a lot of valuable career guidance and coaching from my mentor,” shared one mentee. “The support from my mentor, mentee cohort and Mentorship Program leader made my journey a great experience. I highly recommend the Mentorship Program to anyone who is interested in personal growth and building connections within the UCOP community.”
Mentors benefit too: “I think I learned as much or more than my mentee!” reported one mentor participant.
