UCBAC event series will highlight diverse UC leaders

The UC Black Administrators’ Council (UCBAC) invites UCOP staff to participate in its upcoming Leadership Reflection Series sessions. These 90-minute webinars illuminate a different area for campus leadership roles.

Members of each diverse panel hold key functional positions within UC. With a focus on their own experiences as Black, Chicano/Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander, Indigenous, women and first-generation leaders in higher education, they will share their career trajectories and offer leadership principles and practices for career advancement.

Chief Human Resources Officers

Wednesday, March 31, 12 – 1:30 p.m.
Chief human resources officers are executive partners and coaches who facilitate change management, strategic planning and organizational design. These officers build the institution’s “people programs” and design the delivery of related services. They are influencers, helping to shape decision-making and approaches to securing growth on a campuswide scale.

Chief Admissions/Enrollment Officers

Chief admissions and enrollment officers lead the institution’s efforts to bring new generations of outstanding and diverse students to the university. They provide strategic and visionary leadership for undergraduate admissions, financial aid, the registrar’s office and enrollment management. They play a pivotal role in ensuring the ongoing excellence of each UC campus and the UC system as a whole.

Chiefs of Staff

Wednesday, May 19, 12 – 1:30 p.m.
Chiefs of staff help to ensure that the chief executive is carrying out the strategic objectives of the institution in alignment with its mission and values. The chief of staff serves as executive advisor and confidant to a chief executive, working behind the scenes and with other institutional leaders to solve problems, mediate disputes and deal with issues, large and small.
