Aspiring Leaders Development Program: Information Sessions
Aug. 6, 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Come learn about the new UCOP Aspiring Leadership Development Program, an experiential professional development program. This opportunity is offered to UCOP staff who are interested in exploring leadership roles and career development. It will provide UCOP employees opportunities to learn leadership skills without holding a formal leadership position. Participants will attend six two-hour workshops in September, October and January.

The UCOP L&D team is thrilled to announce that all UCOP employees have access to LinkedIn Learning, which includes over 9,000 on-demand professional development courses! Come to this session and learn how you can leverage this new benefit to grow your career.

My UC Career
Sept. 2, 2 – 3 p.m.
My UC Career is an online development portal available to all UC employees seeking to advance their careers. During this session, you will receive a demo of the portal and what it can do for you.

OPSA Career Panel – Leadership
Sept. 14, 1 – 2 p.m.
The OP Staff Assembly and UCOP Learning and Development welcome all staff to attend a forum to engage with senior leaders, learn about their leadership journeys and gain valuable insights into how they have developed their careers. This session will feature Yvette Gullatt, Chris Harrington, Jenny Kao, Cheryl Lloyd and Charles F. Robinson.

UCOP People Management Integrated Learning Program (PM-ILP) Info Session
Several sessions between Sept. 9 and Oct. 14
Join us as we kick off the second year of PM-ILP, a program designed to complement the online Systemwide People Management Series & Certificate. PM-ILP participants complete online courses individually, then meet in person monthly, as a cohort, to apply the skills they’ve learned to maximum effect. PM-ILP is designed to help current and aspiring managers acquire knowledge and insights to be more impactful in their roles.

Zoom Advanced
Aug. 12, 10 – 11 a.m.
Topics will include: personal meeting IDs, advanced web portal settings, advanced scheduling options, advanced sharing options and annotation, polling, breakout rooms, reporting and cloud recording. A Q&A session will follow.

Excel PivotTables Techniques
Aug. 12, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Register by Aug. 6)
Learn tips and tricks for Excel PivotTables and find out how they can be an invaluable tool in helping you analyze data and present conclusions in compelling ways. If you have been using PivotTables and are wondering what more you can do with them, or need help overcoming obstacles, this workshop will help you get outstanding results.

Creating Accessible PDFs
Aug. 31, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
IT Accessibility is about empowering users with disabilities to easily access and engage with online resources. Many of these resources, such as tax forms, annual reports and policy documents, are PDFs. We will cover how to create accessible Word documents, which can be easily converted into accessible PDFs, and to identify basic accessibility issues using Adobe’s accessibility checker.

Join one of UCOP’s most popular and highly rated instructors, Dr. Rachelle Rogers-Ard, as she discusses and provides frameworks and interactives to support the building of connections with your peers and teams in this interactive two-part workshop. Studies have shown that incorporating the principles of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) at work enhances our ability to communicate and connect with a range of people in healthy ways.
