Classes to help you make the most of UCOP’s tech tools

We use a variety of technologies every day at UCOP — some of which you’re probably more familiar with than others. If you’d like to learn more about our UCOP tech, including features and capabilities you might not know about, consider checking out one of these upcoming courses.

Collaborative Tools for Virtual Meetings
Feb. 21, 1 – 2 p.m.
Learn and try different tools and techniques to make virtual and hybrid meetings more engaging and collaborative. Come with an open mind and ready to learn new internet-based tools!

UCOP Creating Accessible PDFs
March 15, 1 – 2:30 p.m. 
Digital accessibility is about ensuring users with disabilities can easily access and engage with any digital content UCOP creates. Many of these resources, such as annual reports, policy documents, or presentations are PDFs. This course will focus on creating accessible Word documents, converting Word to PDF, and identifying basic accessibility issues using Adobe’s accessibility checker. We will also address converting Excel, PowerPoint, and other formats into accessible PDFs.

UCOP Excel Power Pivot
April 5 & April 12, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Advance your Excel skills by learning Power Pivot — an Excel add-in you can use to perform powerful data analysis and create sophisticated data models. In this class, you’ll become familiar with the PowerPivot application, then learn how to import and manipulate data in a PowerPivot worksheet, create reports using PowerPivot data, use DAX functions in PowerPivot and distribute PowerPivot Data.

Box Fundamentals
May 10, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Box is the cloud-based service that provides secure file storage and file sharing at UCOP. In this introductory course, you’ll learn how to use Box, collaborate with people in and outside UCOP, comment directly on files, folder permissions, shared links and more. IT administrators will also answer your questions.
