LaSA welcomes Lupe Gallegos-Diaz on March 28
On March 28, join the UCOP Latinx Staff Association (LaSA) for a Charla de la Tarde, afternoon chat, featuring Lupe Gallegos-Diaz, director of Chicanx Latinx Student Development at UC Berkeley.
Director Diaz has more than 30 years’ experience at UC Berkeley, where she is also a lecturer in Chicanx Latinx Program/Ethnic Studies Department. She was instrumental to unifying UC’s ten-campus Chicano Latino alumni networks for the establishment of the Chicano Latino Alumni Association (CLAA). She has demonstrated decades of commitment to developing and supporting Chicanx and Latinx students as leaders, as well as to advising and advocating for the racial, educational and economic needs of Chicanx Latinx students and communities of color.
Lupe serves as co-chair of the Berkeley Staff Assembly’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee, and is the recipient of the 2021-22 Kevin McCauley Memorial Outstanding Staff Award.
