On Wednesday, October 18, from 12:00 – 1 p.m. (PT), join LaSA for a virtual Plática (talk) featuring acclaimed producer Yvett Merino. Yvett is the Academy Award-wining producer of “Encanto,” an animated film set in the mountains of Colombia.

Yvett is the first Latina to receive the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Since arriving at Walt Disney Animation Studios more than 25 years ago, she has worked on an array of popular features. She was a founding member of Voces@Disney, the studio’s first Latinx Employee Resource Group. Merino is a UC Santa Barbara alumna and we look forward to hearing her story, followed by a question and answer session.
