Read “The Toyota Way” with the Operational Excellence CoP Book Club
Have you ever wondered how the world’s greatest manufacturer achieves unparalleled quality and efficiency?
On Aug. 28, from 11:10 a.m. – 12 p.m., all UCOP staff are invited to join the Operational Excellence Community of Practice in diving into the book, “The Toyota Way: 14 Management Principles from the World’s Greatest Manufacturer,” by Jeffrey K. Liker.
Whether you’re a seasoned leader or just starting your career at UCOP, the powerful principles outlined in this book can transform how you work.
“The Toyota Way” is available on most library apps and at local bookstores.
Don’t have time to read the book? You’re still invited. We’ll begin our session with a concise “TLDR” summary of the 14 principles outlined in the book, then take a deeper dive into the foundational first principle: “Base your management decisions on a long-term philosophy, even at the expense of short-term financial goals.” In interactive breakout sessions, we’ll explore how this principle, and others, can help us all be a little better in our jobs and teams.
Come curious, leave inspired! Don’t miss this exciting first for our community. Join us to learn, share and discover new ways to drive operational excellence together.
