UCPath donates carloads of gifts to local foster kids and teens

UCPath leaders and staff pose with some of the many donations from the UCPath Staff Connection Committee’s gift drive for Walden Family Services.

In December 2025, UCPath delivered an abundance of holiday cheer to young people in the Inland Empire. For the second consecutive year, UCPath supported Walden Family Services — a private, nonprofit agency providing foster family and foster youth services — by donating several carloads of gifts for foster children and young adults in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

UCPath departments and individuals showed deep generosity, filling several large boxes to overflowing. Dolls, playsets and games joined donations that included bicycles, scooters, sporting equipment, kitchen appliances, clothing, blankets, stuffed animals and more.

“It’s one thing to share gifts with friends, family and coworkers — but it’s a far greater experience to give to children who don’t have family to share gifts with,” said Maria Martinez, coordinator to the executive director and chair of the Staff Connection Committee, which led the toy drive. “That is truly sharing the Spirit of the Season and the magic of what this time of year means.”

“Thank you for the generous donation of gifts for our youth and families during the holiday season. Your support has made a meaningful difference in their holiday experience,” said Sue Evans, Walden’s Chief Operating Officer.

Congratulations to our UCPath colleagues for a successful gift drive!
