Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is speaking up for his alma mater, UCLA, and the whole UC system.

In response to the federal government’s demand of $1 billion from UCLA, beloved UCLA alumnus, basketball star, writer, social justice advocate and philanthropist Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is using his platform to speak up for UC.

A recipient of both the UC Presidential Medal and U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom, Abdul-Jabbar recently partnered with UCLA on a LinkedIn post highlighting his UC story. “America needs UCLA and the entire UC system. And now, UCLA needs us,” he said.
