UCOP Pride members participate in past years’ Oakland Pride parades.

UCOP employees, friends and family are invited to march with the UCOP Pride employee resource group’s contingent in the Oakland Pride Parade on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Everyone who joins us at the march will receive a UCOP Pride T-shirt.

Parade details

The parade starts at Grand Avenue, moves to Broadway, and ends at Frank Ogawa Plaza/Oakland City Hall. As the parade date approaches, UCOP Pride will share our specific form-up location (including a map) via email to those who sign up above.

We strongly encourage taking public transportation to the event, but parking will be available in the UCOP Franklin building for those who need it. If you are driving, expect hard and soft closures along Grand Avenue, Broadway, and immediate intersecting side streets starting early Sunday morning.

UCOP Pride works to build community and solidarity among LGBTQIA staff and allies at UCOP, engage and inspire LGBTQIA individuals who work at UCOP, achieve greater inclusivity for the LGBTQIA community at UCOP and increase resources and broaden the base of support for LGBTQIA communities by improving UCOP’s awareness and understanding of LGBTQIA issues, needs and opportunities.
