10-second bio: Meet Andre Cleveland, mail processor and ’toon maven
Title: Mail processor
Department/Unit: Building and Administrative Service Center (BASC)/Work Management Center
Location: 6th floor, Franklin
When I started working at UCOP: June 6, 2012
What I do for UCOP in five words or less: Customer service, mail processing, Lobby 1
The best part about working for OP: I enjoy being a part of a great team like BASC, where I’ve been allowed to showcase my talents. It’s customer service that I love the most, and serving people who have questions about mail and shipping.
Something you don’t know about me: My hobby is drawing cartoons. I started drawing at age 9, and some nights I dream in cartoon. My favorite kinds of ’toons are comic books and comic strips, especially ’80s cartoons and Manga.
One weird fact about the town I grew up in: I’m from Pittsburgh, PA. We eat lots of french fries, with sandwiches and everything. Heinz products are staples there, so when I moved to the Bay Area and saw Heinz bottles of ketchup sitting on tables, I smiled because they’re from Pittsburgh.
If I could have any job in the world (besides the one I have now), I would be: I would work at Pixar Studios as a storyboard artist.
Keep drawing those cartoons…they are great!
I agree with Scott–your artwork is excellent! Hope you have a chance to submit your portfolio to Pixar some day.
Dreaming in cartoon is the real deal! And while not from Pittsburgh, if I had my way, fries would come with every meal. With gravy (the latter is a NY thing).
“Go Speed Racer, go…”. Beautiful work Andre!
Thats awesome Dre!
Now I know where those WMC Whiteboard ‘toons come from!
I may request some inspired artwork for my next tattoo!
I’ll have to check if my best friend’s granddaughter’s baby daddy still works for Pixar! Network! You are very talented!
Wonderful work – Go for it at Pixar!! – Speed Racer!!! I love it.
awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!
I agree with Larissa: dreaming in cartoon is the real deal! Plus Speed Racer was one of my favorite animes growing up.
