10-second bio: Meet Dylan Paul, construction specialist from Chico
Name: Dylan Paul
Title: Specialist, Construction Services
Department: Budget and Capital Resources
Location: 6th floor, Franklin Street
When I started working at UCOP: September 2013
What I do in five words or less: Construction policy and campus training
Best part about working for OP: The unique opportunity to network with campus and industry professionals to further the UC mission through innovative construction practices. There are so many changes taking place in our programs right now, and it is exciting and humbling to be able to contribute to that process.
Something you don’t know about me: Before going to college, I lived on the island of Maui, Hawaii, for two years and worked as a lifeguard.
One weird fact about the town I grew up in: Chico, Calif., is home to the country’s 13th largest municipally owned park. Bidwell Park is a sight to see, and it runs from the foothills of the Sierra Nevada right into the heart of the city. It was also the filming location for the 1938 production of the Adventures of Robin Hood, starring Errol Flynn.
If I could have any job in the world (besides the one I have now): I am very passionate about what I do, and I actively pursue the opportunities in life that take me where I want to be.
