Celebrate César Chávez this Friday
Join the Latino Staff Association for a light lunch and guest speaker José-Luis Orozco in celebration of César Chávez Day.

A Berkeley alumnus, Orozco is a bilingual educator, children’s author and recording artist who knew Chávez through his involvement with the United Farm Workers in the 1970s. He was a two-time participant in the National Book Festival, organized by the Library of Congress and hosted by then First Lady Laura Bush. In 2011, he was honored with the Latino Spirit Award presented by the California Latino Legislative Caucus and a Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award from the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
An acknowledged expert in children’s music, Orozco is a featured speaker and presenter at educational conferences and continues to perform for children throughout the world.
