Celebrate Black History Month with symposia on African-American scholarship and research at UC

In celebration of Black History Month, the Black Staff & Faculty Organization (BSFO) and the Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity & Engagement at the Office of the President is sponsoring a research symposia highlighting African-American scholarship and research across the University of California system. All staff members are invited to attend.

All sessions will be held in Franklin Lobby 1 from 12 to 1 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The schedule of presenters is as follows:

Monday, Feb. 22

Ben Tucker, Business Administration, M.A. Educational Psychology, UC San Francisco. Ben will discuss his memoir “A Good Run: Memoirs—Ben Tucker.” There will be a raffle for copies of his book.

Friday, Feb. 26

James B. Pratt, Jr., Graduate Student, Criminology, Law and Society, UC Irvine

Courtney Thomas, Assistant Professor, Sociology, University of Kentucky and Postdoctoral Fellow, UC Los Angeles

Monday, Feb. 29

Tracy Johnson, Professor Maria Rowena Ross Chair, Cell Biology and Biochemistry, UC Los Angeles
