UC’s systemwide travel program aims to identify, procure and manage an efficient, cost-effective and comprehensive system across all UC locations. The Connexxus portal supports this purpose by offering easy access for UC employees. Savings garnered by the travel program can help stretch departmental funds further and perhaps send more students on research trips, extend faculty time in the field or allocate funds towards quality patient care programs.

The Central Travel Office and the Business Resource Center are hosting a presentation to provide an overview of the Connexxus portal and answer any travel-related questions:

By the end of the session, participants will have a better understanding of the benefits of the program and key highlights from the 2015 analysis of savings, including:

• What’s in it for me, the traveler (all UC-negotiated rates and benefits)
• What’s in it for UC (year-over-year savings)
• How travelers who book via Connexxus agencies are automatically registered for travel accident insurance coverage
• How airfare can be paid for upfront by campus PTA number, with charges directed automatically to their budget funds

The Central Travel Office holds a quarterly raffle for all who attend these events. First prize is one free domestic airfare ticket (fair market value of the ticket will be reported on the employee’s W-2).
