Brown bag: From Black Panthers to Black Lives Matter
As part of Black History Month, the Black Staff and Faculty Organization (BSFO), Academic Senate, and Diversity and Engagement are sponsoring a brown bag talk “From Black Panthers to #BlackLivesMatter.” The speaker is Sean Malloy, associate professor of History and Critical Race Studies at UC Merced.

Malloy is the author of “Atomic Tragedy: Henry L. Stimson and the Decision to Use the Bomb Against Japan” (Cornell University Press, 2008) as well as articles dealing with nuclear targeting in World War II, the radiation effects of the atomic bomb, and the Cold War internationalism of Eldridge Cleaver. His most recent book, “Out of Oakland: The Black Panther Party, the Third World, and the World” is forthcoming from Cornell University Press this spring.
