Women We Admire series welcomes Sherwynn Umali
On March 28, Sherwynn Umali will speak at UCOP as part of the President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW) Women We Admire series.
Umali is a proud alumna of UC Irvine, where she received a dual bachelor’s degree in psychology and social behavior paired with studio art. She went on to earn her master’s degree in education, leadership and policy studies from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Today, Umali is interim assistant vice chancellor and chief of staff for student affairs at UC Irvine, where she oversees Communications and Special Programs, chairs the All-University Leadership Conference, serves as program director of the Administrative Internship Program — where she teaches MGMT198 in the Paul Merage School of Business — and oversees staff development and information technology for Student Life and Leadership.
Also a mother of two young children, Umali is a freelance graphic designer, photographer and consultant.
