Take the Staff Appreciation Challenge!
Each May, the OP Staff Assembly (OPSA) hosts events in Oakland, Washington, D.C. and at the UCPath Center to honor and give support to all OP staff. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting regulations, this year’s in-person celebrations have been cancelled.
Still, there’s never been a greater need to show appreciation for our colleagues. OPSA recognizes that the lives of OP staff have changed in countless ways. We applaud the efforts of parents as they manage working at home with young children. We empathize with those worrying about aging parents or immunocompromised family members who are especially susceptible to this horrid virus. Most importantly, we appreciate the myriad ways in which staff have shown up for one another — both simple and innovative.
During the week of May 25, OPSA encourages all staff — especially managers, supervisors and executive leaders — to take part in the Staff Appreciation Challenge! To participate, send a Gratitude Gram to a colleague every day for a week, or get creative and show appreciation in another way each day.
Regardless of the circumstance, even the smallest gesture can make someone’s day a little brighter and easier.
