Thursday: Learn about a new fare from Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines has launched Wanna Get Away Plus — a new fare that gives business travelers more flexibility at a low price. The two biggest advantages of this new fare are:
- Transferrable flight credits: Southwest Rapid Rewards Members will be allowed to transfer their airline credits to another Rapid Rewards Member. For bookings made through SWABIZ (Southwest’s Business channel), transfers can only be made between UC campus travelers.
- Same-day confirmed changes and standby: If seats are available, travelers will be able to opt for a different flight on the same day as their original flight, without charge.
There will also be some additional discounts based on UC’s Southwest contract.
Southwest took years of customer feedback, including leadership from the UC Central Travel Office, to create this new fare, and we have invited Southwest Airlines senior leadership to present more at a special webinar on Thursday, June 23, at 1 p.m. (PT). Participants will be entered for raffles to win Southwest prizes.
