November is Native American Heritage Month and UCOP’s Native American, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander Staff Association (NAIPISA) has planned events to help recognize it.
Recruiting and Retaining Native American and Indigenous Students
This Thursday, Nov. 17, from 12 – 12:45 p.m. (PT), NAIPISA is partnering with the UC Berkeley Native and Indigenous Council and the Cal Native & Indigenous Alumni Association to present a virtual panel discussion on recruiting and retaining Native American and Indigenous students to UC. The panel will feature:
- Phenocia Bauerle, Director, Native American Student Development at UC Berkeley and member of the UC President’s Native American Advisory Council
- Yvette Gullatt, UC Systemwide Vice President for Graduate and Undergraduate Affairs and Vice Provost for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- Kristin Theis-Alvarez, Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at UC Berkeley School of Law and Chair, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, Law School Admissions Council
